Ryan and Sophia first met at a youth convention where they were serving as young adult leaders of their combined youth groups from RRCC and Pelham Friends Church. Sophia joined the RRCC young adults’ group and the two of them continued to grow their friendship from there.
Ryan and Sophia married in 2021 and currently live in half of Sophia’s childhood home in Wellandport. They enjoy the company of their family and neighbours, while also appreciating the quietness of the rural hobby farm. They love to welcome visitors for lattes, bike rides, and petting the horse and donkey. They adore their social barn cat, George. Together, they also enjoy fishing, cycling, and serving on the worship team. Ryan and Sophia love to get together and go out for sushi with their wonderful friends.
Sophia studied at Redeemer University, and graduated in 2021 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts focused in social work and ministry. During her studies, she interned with Elisha House (now Insight Biblical Counselling and Clarity Pregnancy Options). Her other part time job is with Safe Families Niagara. Sophia continues her professional development by taking biblical counselling courses in connection with Insight.
Ryan’s full time work is in construction, doing mostly renovations. His personal hobbies include playing music, all kinds of music, and sports – particularly volleyball, basketball, and baseball. He is always looking forward to northern adventures, spending time in God’s beautiful creation with his friends, family, and fishing rods.
Ryan and Sophia desire to see the Body of Christ ministering to itself and the community around it. Their passion within this role is to see familial faith flourishing through home ministry, family members discipling one another, and young people passionately sharing about their life-changing relationships with Jesus.
